Hand crafted in natural fibers, this simple everyday wear is inspired by yoga and the practice of finding balance in oneself.  Adding a touch of milk and honey to your daily threads brings simplicity and versatility, as well as an essence of oneness.Janessa designs all her pieces, relying on natural, sustainable, fibers (including hemp). Milk and Honey’s featured fabric is khadi cotton, inspired by Janessa’s reverence for Mahatma Ghandi, who vowed to only wear this

handmade textile, which symbolized India’s independence and self-reliance. Janessa studied natural dyeing extensively at the U of O and is passionate about indigo dye and the shibori tie-dying technique, which dates from the 8th century. Milk and Honey evolved from a fortes design, Janessa’s successful clothing business in New York City. Janessa relocated

to Oregon in 2008, seeking greater balance and simplicity in her personal life. Motivated by her longtime yoga practice, Janessa strives to live her entire life in a mindful fashion, and to weave back into each thread of her clothing all of the nurturance she has been blessed with by her community and her connection with nature. She incorporates the highest integrity into all aspects of her business, including bicycle delivery, local production, and use of natural fibers
